Early Victorian solid 18 carat gold vinaigrette mourning hair locket.

Deeply carved floral gold frame, engine engraved covers, one with inscribed initials SW.

The push button spring opens the vinaigrette, the inside lid inscribed

In Memory of my dear Sister Jane Wornell

Hinged pierced and engrave floral grill.

The other cover is thumb nail opened revealing the glazed hair compartment.

A top quality piece, all in excellent little used condition, good hinges and snap tight catches throughout.

Diameter 1,1/8" or 28.5mm, weight 15 grams.

Tested 18 carat gold.
