Antique Sterling Silver String Box / Dispenser Oak Leaves & Acorns

Description

A wonderful antique English circular sterling silver string box with the most wonderful pierced or reticulated panel running around the centre, incorporating Oak Leaves and Acorns.

The domed lid fits well and has a small hole to the top for the dispensing of string or twine. There is a sheath to the side which houses a small pair of steel scissors.

A wonderful and unusual box measuring 2 3/8" tall (excluding scissors) with a lid diameter measuring 2 1/2".

The silver is hallmarked for Birmingham 1908, making this an Edwardian example.
