Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Royal Crown Derby is one of the oldest remaining English porcelain manufacturers, established in Derby in 1750. Cabinet plates were produced as display pieces to highlight the companys fine bone china body, custom gilding, and highly skilled in-house artists.

These pieces are crafted from fine bone china, composed of clay, feldspar, and bone ash for translucency and strength. The central design is painted by hand using mineral-based pigments before undergoing multiple kiln firings, accompanied by hand-applied accent gilding along the scalloped rim.

Authentic pieces feature backstamps on the underside, including the crowned emblem and printed factory marks. Year cyphers or Roman numerals indicate the exact year of manufacture, while hand-painted examples often carry the artists signature within the painted composition or on the reverse.

Decorative plates can be displayed upright on brass plate stands within glass cabinets, arranged on a mantelpiece, or hung in a curated wall gallery using invisible wire plate hangers to add texture and subtle colour.

Dust gently with a soft, lint-free microfibre cloth. Avoid immersion in water, chemical cleaners, abrasive pads, or dishwashers, as liquid and friction can wear away hand-painted enamels and delicate gold leaf detailing.
