Description

An absolutely charming small English country-made four-leg stool. This wonderful example has a top that is flat – not saddle shaped – making it perfect for use as a small low occasional table. The square-section legs are roughly hewn at the top to a circular-section as they tenon into the underside of the top, and are united by simple beech stretchers. The original untouched finish has a beautifully warm colour with a glowing lustre shine and a rich patination. English, c.1875.
