Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Heriz carpets originate from the Heris region in Northwestern Iran and are renowned for their geometric medallions, bold angular motifs, and high-durability construction. Unlike urban Persian rugs that feature curvilinear floral patterns, Heriz designs are stylized and rectilinear due to regional weaving traditions.

These runners are hand-knotted using local wool pile hand-spun onto a sturdy cotton foundation. The wool from this mountainous region contains high trace minerals, resulting in exceptional tensile strength, vibrant dye absorption, and a resilient pile tied with Turkish symmetrical knots.

Authentic pieces exhibit slight natural dye variations known as abrash, a flexible and heavy woven foundation, and minor geometric asymmetries across the pattern. The reverse side clearly displays hand-knotted thread structures rather than uniform machine stitching or synthetic backing.

A Persian runner introduces architectural structure, warmth, and grounded colour to modern corridors, entry halls, and kitchen aisles. Placing a traditional geometric runner alongside minimalist joinery creates an intentional contrast between historic craft and clean modern lines.

Maintain the pile by vacuuming regularly with suction only, avoiding rotating beater bars that loosen fibers. Position a quality non-slip underlay beneath the rug to prevent wear, rotate periodically to distribute foot traffic, and address spills immediately with cold water and mild liquid soap.
