Description

"This early 20th century hall or porch lantern is very tall. It is interesting as there are pontils in the glass.

This is colloquially known as a 'bulls eye' or a pontil mark. In the past, window glass was made through a blob of molten glass being picked up on a pontil, and spun rapidly to form a disk. The edges were then snapped off to form a square or oblong glass pannel.

The frame of the lantern is constructed of flat c-scroll metal, with some black paint left and a rusty look. This piece has a really good early look to it; probably C1900"
