Description

A superb late nineteenth century French silver gilt magnifying glass by Boin Taburet.

Boin Taburet (French, 1880-1900) was established in 1873 by the antique dealer George Boin and the jeweller Emile Tabuet.

The firm was credited for the revival of interest in Louis XV style silver work in Paris in the late 1880s and were awarded gold medal at the Paris 1889 Exposition Universelle; they were renowned for producing ware of extremely fine quality, with superb attention to detail.

This beautiful silver gilt magnifying glass is fully stamped with makers mark for Boin Taburet and silver guarantee. Presented in original fitted leather case, with beautiful gilt tooling and decoration.

A rare piece by the most prestigious French makers of the period.
