Technical Description
 
A very fine pair of solid sterling silver candlesticks made in Sheffield England in 1901.
 
Made in the form of Corinthian Collums, the ''master stonemason'' workmanship is superb. Fixed circular nozzles with detachable sconces. Fully Hallmarked for Sheffield 1901 on both sticks and sconces.
 
Made by Walter Latham & Son who were registered as operating out of the Brocco Works in Solly Street, Sheffield between 1899 and 1912
 
Historical Relevance
 
Manufactured around the time George Dewey became the first in the US to hold the rank of Admiral of the Navy.
