Antique Festoon Georgian Necklace Pink & Clear Paste Silver Swag Necklace Circa 1800

This Georgian swag necklace is gorgeous.

Hand crafted in silver this rare high quality necklace dates to around 1800

So beautifully designed with swags of sparkling paste flowers and pretty pink paste stones

The central round pink stone is surrounded by clear stones within a scroll fame. Above two oblong past stones are festooned with clear stones. Below are swags of paste flowers with two pear shaped pink stones with a paste cluster fringe finished with a pear shaped pink drop

The clear stone flower clusters continue all around the necklace to the back where it is finished with a decorated box clasp

This necklace has a closed back and the stones are foil backed to enhance them

It is designed to sit elegantly and comfortably on the neck.

Notes: Past is hand cut glass. It stimulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones, clear paste sparkles like diamonds. Fine paste will often look better than natural gemstones. It was used extensively in the 18th and 19th century where it was popular with royalty and aristocrats.
