Antique Victorian Sterling Silver & Tortoiseshell Inkstand 1899

Description

This is a beautiful antique Victorian hallmarked sterling silver and tortoiseshell inkstand with a cut glass and silver inkwell and space for a pen.

It measures 8" (20 cms) across x 6 1/4" (16 cms) x 4" (10 cms) high to the top of the inkwell.

The whole item is in excellent condition with matching hallmarks for the tray and inkwell for London 1899 and silversmiths marks for Henry John Batson & Albert Edward Batson - it's also marked underneath with the retailers name 'A.Barrett & Sons, 63 & 64, Picadilly, W.'.

The tortoiseshell stand has super colour with a beautiful pierced silver decoration around the edge and there are no inscriptions or monograms.
