A Rare 18th Century Scandinavian Silver Sugar Caster

A superb and rather rare Scandinavian silver sugar caster. This gorgeous example dates from the 18th Century and is of baluster form with fluting through the body and the raised foot. This design is continued to the lid which is beautifully pierced and has a steeple finial. It is removed by an interesting and unusual single bayonet fitting, denoting the quality of the finish. The gauge of the silver is good and this early example of Scandinavian silver is both aesthetically pleasing and still usable today. Dimensions below.
