Fine Edwardian Silver Gothic Toast Rack

An exceptionally fine and neat Edwardian solid silver toast rack. Unusually designed in a most fabulous gothic arch shape, the rack has 4 compartments and sits on a rectangular base, supported on four neat ball feet. It has a lovely handle, again in a true gothic style, all culminating in what is a most aesthetically pleasing item. It is a good heavy gauge silver and feels a nice weight when picked up by the handle. Very clearly defined hallmarks can be seen on the top of the base for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark of 1905 along with the maker's marks for the silversmith John Edward Wilmot.
