A large and fine quality silver plate meat platter by Elkington the finest makers of the Victorian period. The platter stand on simple strong bun feet, it has robust solid cast handles, and on the side is the access to the reservoir for hot water. The whole must have been incredibly heavy when full of hot water and with a roast turkey on top! The edge has a simple gadrooned moulding and the interior has deep channelling to collect the meat juices. The platter is just the largest and best quality possible and a superb piece of Victorian silver plate dinnerware.
