Stunning Arts & Crafts Silver Bowl Birmingham 1929

1920 - 1940
Description

Iconic Arts & Crafts, stunning silver bowl, in a wonderful organic rounded and circular shape and featuring a subtle hammered finish to the body. This bowl stands on 3 ornate leaf and claw feet, which add to the wonderful aesthetics of this bowl.

To one side of the bowl, the hallmarks are very clearly visible: Birmingham Assay office with a date mark for 1929 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver along with the maker's mark for the Silver maker: A E Jones (Albert Edward Jones).

 

A stunning bowl, the high standards and originality of the arts and crafts movement are evident! and the bowl is in lovely antique collector's condition. It feels a nice solid weight when held!
