It was listed by Corvidae Antique. Sold pieces stay on Sellingantiques as a record of what has passed through, and the next one is rarely far away.
Corvidae Antique has dated this piece to the Victorian era.

The locket does not have any visible hallmarks but has acid tested as sterling silver, which would originally have been gilded.
In very good antique condition, see photos. Some traces of the gilding remain, particularly around the bail, but most has rubbed away, leaving the locket largely a pale gold colour along the sides, and almost completely silver around the portraits. The two sides can be prised apart and closed again to house your own photograph or tiny keepsake.
Size: 3 x 4.1cm not including the bail. 6mm deep. 5.5cm total drop.
Weight: 10.9g.
