Art Deco George VI Sterling Silver Tea Set

1920 - 1940
Description

A George VI Sterling silver three piece tea set which has been designed in the Art Deco style and consists of a teapot, cream jug and sugar basin. The teapot has a plain slightly oblong shaped body, a flush fitting hinged lid with a shaped finial and resting on a stylish raised foot. The cream jug and sugar basin have each been designed with plain oblong shaped bodies, detailed handles and resting on stylish raised feet in the same manner as the teapot. This well made silver tea set would look eye catching on the table and would be perfect to use. The teapot stands at 14.30 cms high, the sugar basin stands at 9.20 cms high and the cream jug stands at 8.60 cms high. This set was hallmarked in Sheffield for 1941 by Stower and Wragg Ltd and weighs 33.60 troy ounces (1045 grams). It remains in excellent condition.
