Antique English Sterling Silver String Box / Dispenser - Chester 1909

Description

A handsome little string or twine box with an attractive raised continuous acanthus leave decoration around the lid and foot.

At the top of the domed lid, is the hole for the string to be dispensed.

Both lid and cannister are hallmarked for Chester 1909, Edwardian in era together with the makers mark S.I. Ld for Stokes & Ireland Ltd -William Henry Stokes & Arthur George Ireland.

Excellent condition measuring 2" tall with a base diameter measuring 2 3/8".
