Description

A 19th century three piece tea set by Walker and Hall of Sheffield fully hallmarked date 1898. The very fine quality tea set consisting of tea pot , sugar bowl and milk jug has a fluted body , at the base there is bright cut work also to the top.

Walker and Hall began with John Harrison , a Britannia metal worker who took out the first license in Sheffield from Elkington on 13 June 1843 to make electroplated items . Walker started in his own and took a license for him and partner but didn’t start manufacturing straight away , after a while he was joined by another partner, Henry Hall and the company of Walker & Hall began .
