Tom Scott Antiques has dated this piece to the 1850s.
Made by a well know and very well respected craftsman, named Strahan and based in Dublin. The frame is stamped STRAHAN and numbered 5588.

The stool has been fully re upholstered and buttoned as it was previously. The fabric used is a pale sage chenille and with a scrolled gimp braid to finish. Simple and effective, I hope you agree?!
Super piece of good period Irish furniture, fully restored and in excellent condition. This stool would be happy to seat two adults on it as an occasional extra seat if required, but also would be lovely to use as a centre piece with a suitable butlers style tray to hold drinks etc.
Measuring:
15” or 38cm high
