Description

Exceptionally high quality vinaigrette of shaped rectangular form. Victorian ( I read the mark as 1845) by Birmingham silversmith Edward Smith who was first registered as a silversmith in 1826, specialising in quality boxes, card cases & vinaigrette’s.

This beautiful item is exquisitely decorated on all sides including the underneath, the interior compartment cover is beautifully cut out within a framed form. Silver gilt interior.

Cover is monogrammed which I see as “JEY”.

The object is clearly shown, I hope, in my poor quality pictures taken on an iPad , you can also see that I have not cleaned it as yet.
