This really is an outstanding and impressive Victorian brass standard floor lamp, shown with a ''vintage'' black and brass lined shade.The detail to this lamp is second to none, from the elegance of the reeded style column down to the triform base with those stunning lions paw feet and the three sides showing this wonderful bearded fellow ( afraid I can''t pretend to know an awful lot about these classical figures, hence my term of bearded fellow! )Originally, this lamp was an extending lamp, meaning you can raise the height to the shade column by approx 4'' or 120cm, but I have not restored this feature as it''s not really necessary these days. I have cleaned all the old brasso chalk from the lamp, but not over polished it, so it has a good patina but is clean. The lamp now has a standard bayonet bulb fitting and I have provided a long braided cord of approx 4m, so if you need to plug in a long distance from a socket, you hopefully won''t need an extension cable.
