Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
Hinged on one side the Vesta opens and closes perfectly with a clear snap sound. The hallmarks are on the inside lip for the Chester Assay office with date mark for 1908 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver, the maker's mark is for the silversmith Asprey and Co Ltd. along with the words Asprey London. There are also part hallmarks to the outside of the lid.

This is a superior Vesta Case. It is superbly made and aesthetically pleasing on the eye. It is a good heavy gauge silver and feels lovely when held in the hand.
In great antique collector's condition. To the back, near the base, is a slight indentation and tarnishing in places (please see images for details).
