Sheffield 1905 Lovely Solid Silver Pierced Serving Spoons by Famous Makers, James Dixon and Son.

1900 - 1920
Description

Sheffield 1905 English hallmarked solid silver pair of magnificent Edwardian period large beautifully pierced serving spoons made by famous makers James Dixon and Son.

Large oval bowls with lovely shaped edges outline a superb foliate and leafy pierced middle. The stem, also tapering to an oval, similarly pierced wide handle, curving in the opposite direction, makes a wonderful overall presentation, and feels lovely to hold.

Traces of the original pale gilding are still present.

Size-5.5 inches long by 2 1/8 inches wide. Size of bowl 2 5/8 inches long by 2 1/8 inches wide.

Weight-100 grams.

These spoons are excellent for serving fruit and berries, sugared desserts, or whatever you wish.

It is unusual to find such spoons, and particularly to get a matching pair.

In very good condition, these would be wonderful to own or to give as a special gift.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
