Sheffield 1922 Solid Silver Lovely Pierced Dish on Pedestal Made by John Round, Famous Maker.

Description

Sheffield 1911 lovely and unusual English hallmarked solid silver pierced dish on solid tapering pedestal base, made by John Round, famous maker.

With applied leaf edging, the round dish has beautifully executed pierced decoration in a leaf and heart design. The solid petal design centre of the dish is embellished with a cast Tudor rose plaque, symbolic of British heraldic tradition. The workmanship is really lovely. The dish stands on a tall tapering pedestal, creating a most elegant look.

Size-approx. 4.5 inches diameter, by 3.25 inches high.

Weight-70 grams.

This beautiful and delicate dish is perfect for mints, nuts, sugared almonds, sweets, or even for business cards on a desk. It would also be a nice romantic gift, and one perfect to portray English silver craftsmanship.

In very good condition, with very clear hallmarks, and by a very famous maker.
