Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
Hinged on one side the lid opens and closes perfectly and shows a gilted finish to the interior. The case has clear hallmarks visible on the inside lip for the Birmingham Assay Office, with a date mark for 1906 and the Lion Passant indicating sterling silver, along with the silversmith's maker's mark : H V Pithy & Co. There is a good fastening loop to one side.

This vesta is lovely to hold in the hand, nice and solid and a good heavy gauge silver.
Condition: In lovely antique condition.
