Description

A very impressive late Victorian silver plated table lamp of large proportions by J Hinks & Sons. J Hinks & Sons had a foundry in Birmingham from 1835 and were responsible for the vast improvements to oil lamps, patenting the duplex burner for petroleum based lamps. Their trade stamp is associated with all quality lighting from that period.

This impressive lamp with stepped base leading to Corinthian column and capital measures 59cm in height to the top of the bulb holder, however this lamp features an unusual telescopic column lifting the bulb holder a further 20cm if so desired. The three step base measures 20.6cm x 20.6cm.

A stunning and heavy example, with no risk of it being knocked over. It is in beautiful condition throughout, professionally rewired and will be sold with safety PAT test.
