A Magnificent Pair of Silver & Amethyst Glass Condiment Tubs

A magnificent pair of pierced silver salt or condiment tubs from early in the reign of Queen Victoria. These lovely examples stand on acanthus feet and have detailed piercing to the sides, featuring foliar decoration. The cartouches are engraved with a handsome armorial of a bird with coronet above, suggesting origins with the Aristocracy. The bowls contain stunning amethyst glass liners cut with a star base and these fabulous example are made by the famous and sought after Barnard Family. A superior pair of condiment tubs with a number of tableware uses. Dimensions below.
