Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.

The inside of the lid has a pale lemon gilt finish. The inside has a purple velvet pad with 4 compartments for rings. Underneath the lid along the lip on one side of the box are the very clear hallmarks for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1908 along with the Maker's mark for the renowned silversmiths: Goldsmiths & Silversmiths.

The hinged lid opens and closes perfectly.
The box feels lovely and solid and sturdy.
A beautiful box, epitomises the art nouveau style!
