Fine Silver Card Case Birmingham 1919

1900 - 1920
Description

A very fine solid silver Card Case. The case is a lovely plain polished silver, the only engraving being an initial 'E' on the front, centre. Rectangular in shape, with curved corners, the case is very tactile and feels nice to hold in the hand. The hinged lid opens and closes well and underneath the lid the clear hallmarks are visible for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1919 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The silver maker's mark is also clear for G Loveridge & Co. Partial marks are also visible on the lid.

A lovely card case in great antique condition. There is some surface scratching to the plain polished silver which we mention for accuracy and is commensurate with the age of the item.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
