Description

This is a super antique Victorian sterling silver trinket box measuring 5 1/2? (14 cms) x 3" (7.5 cms) x 1 1/2? (4 cms) high and hallmarked for Birmingham 1899 with the silversmiths mark for Henry Matthews.

The lid is embossed with a depiction of 'The Music Lesson' by Nicolas Lancret depicting a gentleman playing a lute to two ladies in a formal garden scene.

The box weighs 147 grams and is in super condition, is gilded inside and there are no inscriptions or monograms.
