This is a lovely, large jewellery box in excellent condition.
 
It is clearly hallmarked on the side for London 1903 with the maker''s mark for William Comyns. There are conforming marks on the side of the lid. The embossed iris on the lid is simple and effective, The four iris-leaf feet are well-attached, the velvet interior in good condition, the gilding inside the lid excellent and the hinge solid - a gorgeous piece.
