This is a lovely antique Victorian sterling silver trinket box measuring 2 1/2? (6 cms) x 2 1/4" (4.5 cms) x 1 1/4? (3.5 cms) tall and hallmarked for Birmingham 1899.

The lid is embossed with a depiction of 'The Music Lesson' by Nicolas Lancret depicting a gentleman playing a lute to two ladies in a formal garden scene.

The box weighs 38.5 grams and is in super condition, is gilded inside and there are no inscriptions or monograms.
