Victorian Fluted Silver Sugar Bowl Birmingham 1876

Description

A very stylish, Victorian, solid silver Sugar Bowl. The style is very ahead of it's time and has an art deco appearance with two squared handles either side and a nicely fluted body. Clear hallmarks are visible on one side for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark of 1876 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver. The maker's mark is also clear for the silversmith: John Millward Banks.

 

Condition: In great antique condition.

 

Hallmarks and maker's marks: Birmingham 1876 by John Millward Banks.

 

Measurements:

Height to top of handles: 8.5 cm approx.

Width: 14.5 cm approx.

Depth: 6.6 cm approx.

Weight: 108 grams approx.
