Jewellery doesn’t come much more bold and daring than this. The yellow sapphire in the centre – certified as natural, unheated and originating from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) – displays a bright, golden yellow. The stone is secured in a yellow gold rubover setting that rests within a wonderfully ornate surround. Twenty-six eight-cut diamonds in the gallery, plus a further ten (five each side) baguette cuts in the shoulders are “bound” together with rope detailing, leading to wire and rope detailed shank.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Cushion cut sapphire with eight-cut and baguette cut diamonds.
Colour – The diamonds are H to I.
Clarity – The sapphire is clean to the naked eye (VS2). The diamonds are VS1 to VS2.
Carat – The sapphire is a known 13.50 carat, with approximately 1.74 carat of diamonds.
Circa – 1960.
Size – L 1/2 (UK) or 5 7/8 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The sapphire is 12.99 x 12.77mm. The ring is 23.9mm at the widest point and sits 11.7mm from the finger.
Metal – Platinum. The sapphire is set in 18k yellow gold. Tested.
