Antique Silver "Alice In Wonderland" Menu Holders

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: The Silver Cabinet

A fantastic set of four, extremely rare ''Alice in Wonderland'' solid sterling silver menu holders.

They are all clearly hallmarked for Birmingham 1906, with the maker''s mark of Levi & Salaman. They all also carry the patent number 467555.

Each of the four characters has amazing detail and they are all in good condition. The bases were covered in a slightly bulbous fashion, leaving the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat and the White Rabbit rocking very gently when pushed. Alice is made of sterner stuff! These figures are based upon the original drawings by Sir John Tenniel.

The tallest character is slightly under 5cm and the diameter of the base is 4cm.

Wonderful!
