This is an Art Deco hallmarked sterling silver cigarette case. It was assayed in Birmingham in 1929, and made by Deakin & Francis Ltd.
It is of rectangular form with engine turned decoration to the exterior and a gilded interior. The interior is engraved with a ''GR'' monogram.
The hinge and clasp work well. There is some residual tarnish to the case which is hard to remove. There are also some dents. The elastic on the interior is quite worn.
It weighs 158g (5.1 ozt) gross.
