Description

A very rare and exceptionally fine solid silver chatelaine Thimble Case containing an exquisite silver thimble decorated with rose gold coloured metal heart and flowers.

The silver cover is beautiful and nicely embossed, it has a neat lid which opens and closes perfectly and there is an empty cartouch in the centre. The inside of the case is lined with a blue velvet material. A chain is fixed for attachment. To the underneath are the clear hallmarks for the Chester Assay Office with a date mark for 1902 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver and maker's marks for the renowned silversmith Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings Shepherd.
