It is thought that this reproduction was woven in Turkey or possibly Eastern Europe during the early part of the 20th century, it has been suggested that it could be from the workshop of the master weaver Teodor Tuduc, who had workshops in Brasov, Romania; and produced copies of some of the greatest 16th and 17th century rugs.The rug has superb natural dyes throughout, with wonderful soft reds and a range of indigo blues. The rug is in excellent condition with only very slight wear in places and generally very good pile.
