S & A Marsh has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
There is a section in the centre of the stand to house the burner. This Victorian silver kettle on stand was hallmarked in London for 1856 by John Hunt for Hunt and Roskell, late Storr and Mortimer and has been made to the highest standard, as one would expect from this company. There is a crest in the front of the body and this kettle would look impressive on the table. It weighs 83.00 troy ounces ( 2581 grams ) and is in excellent condition.
