Antique Victorian Silver Kettle on Stand

Description

An Antique Victorian Sterling silver kettle on stand which has a tall octagonal shaped body with attractive swirl and leaf decoration and a hinged dome shaped lid with a patterned finial. The kettle sits comfortably on an elegant stand with three elaborate legs with shell decoration and is held in place by means of silver pins. There is a section in the centre of the stand to house the burner. This Victorian silver kettle on stand was hallmarked in London for 1856 by John Hunt for Hunt and Roskell, late Storr and Mortimer and has been made to the highest standard, as one would expect from this company. There is a crest in the front of the body and this kettle would look impressive on the table. It weighs 83.00 troy ounces ( 2581 grams ) and is in excellent condition.
