A Lovely Silver & Tortoiseshell Dressing Table Bottle

A splendid and decorative salts or dressing table bottle with a handsome silver hinged lid. The interior of the lid and collar is fully gilded and to the top is a tortoiseshell panel with applied silver pique work. There is a fitted stopper to the glass body and the base is cut with an eight point star. Originally designed for smelling salts, this would serve well as a small cologne bottle or dressing table piece. A superior example. Dimensions below.
