An unusual example of a solid sterling silver card case.
It is hallmarked for London 1911, with the maker''s mark of Sampson & Mordan & Co. The marks on the back of the case are a little rubbed - not surprising if it has been used for its intended purpose over the last 100-odd years - but the marks inside are crisp and clear. The case has an Interesting flip top design. It is completely plain. The hinged lid rattles slightly but holds together well and springs back into place. The gilding inside is in excellent condition.
