M Lees and Sons has dated this piece to the 1870s.
The square section panelled reserve frame and reeded leg uprights all joined by X cross-section supports , each with a roundel to the centre . The whole raised on carved ovoid feet .

The design resonating with classical Greek and Roman design seats and Athenienne stands from antiquity.
Good rich colour and patina , with no damage or breaks.
Has been stripped of covering to reveal frame-work and hessian pad . can be recovered at cost to client's choice of fabric and specification.
