Description

An exquisite solid silver vesta case, exceptional engraving with a very attractive scrolling pattern to both the front and back, and a lovely heart shaped vacant cartouche in the centre. Hinged on one side the lid opens and closes perfectly and there is a good fastening loop on one side. The case has clear hallmarks visible on the inside lip of the Vesta for Birmingham Assay Office, with a date mark for 1912 and the Lion Passant indicating sterling silver, along with the silversmith's maker's mark: William J Holmes



Very lovely design and in great antique collector's condition.
