Unusual Circular Solid Silver Vesta Case Chester 1903

1900 - 1920
Description

A very rare and collectable, Edwardian, solid silver Vesta Case in circular form. The lid is hinged at the back and opens and closes nicely. To one side is a loop for attachment. Clear hallmarks are visible to the inside lip of the Vesta case and also partial marks on the lid (see images), for the Chester Assay Office with a date mark for 1903 and maker's marks for William Neale. The area for striking matches is across the bottom of the Vesta.
