Description

A very unusual and quite stunning solid silver stamp case. The stamp case, in envelope form, is decorated with the most beautiful repousse work to both the front and the back. The back has a small cartouch in the centre in the shape of a sheild. The hinged lid opens and closes perfectly. Hallmarks are clearly visible on the back of the stamp case for the Chester Assay office with a date mark for 1914 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver.

This is a rare item as it is unusual to find a stamp case decorated with such wonderful repousse work.
