An excellent example of a solid sterling silver pap boat.
It is clearly hallmarked at the back for London 1796, with the maker''s mark of Thomas Wallis II superimposed over mark for Samuel Godbehere & Edward Wigan.
There are italicised initials tucked under the spout. In terms of design, it is classically plain with a ribboned edging. There are surface abrasions and slight dimpling here are there, but nothing that wouldn''t be expected from an item which was used over 200 years ago.
