Antique Solid Silver Wine Taster with Glass Lining

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a highly decorative example of a solid sterling silver wine taster.

It is clearly hallmarked for London 1925 with the maker's mark of D & J Welby.

The decorated around the inside of the bowl features grapes on vines. The base has an inset coin. The handle is shaped as two overlapping snakes and is well-attached. I have never seen a wine taster with a glass liner before - it seems a shame to cover the wonderful decoration within the bowl but, nonetheless, the liner is in excellent condition

Dimensions:

Silver Weight: 99g

Height: 2.5cm

Diameter: 9cm

Width (including handle): 11.5cm

Post and packaging are free within the UK via Royal Mail special delivery. Overseas buyers please e-mail for postage costs. Thank you.
