Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
Two perfectly proportioned handles sit either side, and stands on one circular foot.

Very clear hallmarks are visible on the back for the Sheffield Assay office with a date mark for 1896 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The silver maker's mark is also clearly visible for Charles Favell & Co.

The inside of the porringer has a very pale lemony coloured gilt finish.
A wonderful item - the fine quality of the silversmith is very evident! A good heavy gauge silver !
Would make a wonderful Wedding present or Christening gift!
