A Fabulous Pair of Mid 18th Century Silver Serving Spoons

A fabulous pair of hallmarked silver serving or tablespoons from the mid 18th Century and of excellent gauge silver. These lovely examples are in Hanoverian pattern and have handsome wedding initials to the reverse of the shank. Pricked initials from this period denote the top as the Surname and the two underneath would be the initials to the Groom and Bride's Christian names. The heels have an attractive long strap. Georgian silver tableware is always in demand and becoming increasingly difficult to find. A matching pair from the mid-18th Century are both good collector's items and usable. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no dents or splits. The bowl tips are good. There are a couple of 'digs' to the bowls commensurate with age and use.

Hallmarks :- Readable and clear.

Maker :- One spoon is by Benjamin Bickerton, the other is probably William Turner.

Date :- London 1762.

Length :- 21 cms.
