Miniature Silver Covered Book of Common Prayer Birmingham 1911

1900 - 1920
Description

A superb and wonderful miniature Book of Common Prayer. The front cover of the book is silver and decorated with beautiful Reynold's Angels. Clear hallmarks are visible on the front cover for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark of 1911 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. Also clearly visible are the silvermaker's marks: Charles Penny Brown.

The side and back of the book are covered in a lovely maroon leather which is in lovely condition and there are no breaks to the spine, with no damage to the pages inside.

A divine little book in great antique collector's condition!

Would make a super gift for a Christening or Confirmation.

 

Hallmarks and maker's marks: Birmingham 1911 by Charles Penny Brown.
